SAUVEUSE REPUBLIC TO DISSOLVE SOON. WHY DID IT FAIL?

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

The Sauveuse Republic, a proclaimed semi-direct democracy under a presidential republic is officially going dissolve and all of its former land claims respectfully returned to Paloma. How exactly did the Sauveuse Republic go from a promising neighbor of Paloma with thoughts of freedom of political choice and democracy to rejoining socialist Paloma?

Well, the Sauveuse Republic was actually sorta a "successor state" to the former People's Federation of Quebec. The Republic was formed after Aidan McGrath was talking about democracy and such and was starting to agree more with it. The same day the Sauveuse would make a constitution of basic micronational laws and such. It was not until 25 hours after its establishment that a "coup" was attempted by the sitting President, Aidan McGrath. In the claimed "coup" the newly elected Prime Minister, Eyrn Lewis was kicked from the Sauveuse Discord server by the President. In response the Sauveuse members made a new Discord server and booted McGrath whom still claimed he was President which made the argument of the "Two Quebec's" which is over who is the true successor. An agreement was made with McGrath and Lewis with the Grand Unified Micronational. They two parties would split all former land of Quebec, Sauveuse getting the south and a new state called "Sacree" which is present day Paloma getting the north. After a few weeks of trial and error, McGrath reverted back to socialist and Sacree became the "Free Socialist State of Paloma" which we know today. So why did the Sauveuse Republic fall if it had support? Well, Sauveuse had a Inactive government and a small following inside it of other micronational leaders. Lewis would officially leave the Republic as well as others. The President of the Sauveuse Republic, Leon Montan officially passed the motion to dissolve and rejoin Paloma. However, this is not the 100% end of democracy in the Sauveuse yet.

On March 25, the Sauveuse Republic will become a Special administrative region of Paloma. It will have its name changed to "Salvadora" and be bilingual in Spanish and French. For some this is an end of an era, a time when democracy happened, or a symbol of what Paloma could have been. For the Palomans, this is a new beginning for the both of us.
